Unlike national parks, the Ngorongoro Protected Area does not exclude all human life.
Indeed, on this vast expanse of more than 8,500 km², man and wildlife have lived here in harmony for hundreds of years.
Allowed to remain on the land of their ancestors, the Massai carry on their traditional way of life as nomadic pastoralists.
